City Guide For The German City Of Mannheim

Mannheim is a medium-sized city of just over 300,000 people. Located where the Rhine and Neckar Rivers meet in Southwestern Germany, it's known for being a German tech hub as well as the fact that its unusual streets are laid out in a grid pattern. It's also only a 20-minute drive from the much larger German city of Heidelberg.

Gaststätte Pinte

If you are looking for an authentic German bar experience, this is one of the best. Plenty of German beers and wines, classic German bar food and a lot of local regulars. Mannheim Baroque Palace

The largest Baroque palace in Germany, this sprawling architectural wonder is filled with historical artifacts and unforgettable buildings. Part of it is also the home of the University of Mannheim, which is located in part of the castle. The grounds are generally full of visitors and it's a popular sites for weddings and other celebrations.

Water Tower

This iconic tower is probably the best known landmark in Mannheim. The city was once known as "Little Paris" and you'll see why when you check out the Art Nouveau beauty of the water tower and the park where it's located. Getting a photo with the tower is one of the must-do things for most tourists and you could spend an entire day just exploring the little shops and cafes that surround the area.
